what we do

We are dedicated to combating teenage pregnancy and child marriages in the Elgon Region. We stand together to support young mothers and sensitize against teenage pregnancy .

Recent Outreach (July 27,2023)

EEYMO reached over 100 pregnant teenagers, providing counseling, guidance, and essential items like Mama Kits, baby clothing, soap, and sugar.

Challenges:

1. Coping with the overwhelming number of teen pregnancies. 2. Limited funding to meet the growing demand. 3. Lack of transportation resources.

Future Plans:

1. Establishing a shelter for abandoned teen mothers. 2. Constructing a vocational school to equip them with essential skills. 3. Creating a hospital dedicated to teen mothers' needs.

Come Support Us

We earnestly invite you to join us in our mission to combat teen pregnancies in the Elgon region, empower young mothers, and transform lives by contributing to this noble cause. Together, we can make a lasting impact.

Certainly, here’s a consolidation of the programs into three comprehensive initiatives for Elgon Ebenezer Young Mothers Organization (EEYMO):

1. **Empowerment and Education Program (EEP)**:
   – **Educational Empowerment**: This component focuses on providing scholarships, tutoring, and mentorship to support young mothers in continuing their education. It also includes workshops to help them catch up on missed education.
   – **Skills Development**: EEP includes skills development workshops covering sewing, cooking, computer literacy, entrepreneurial skills, and apprenticeship opportunities.
   – **Financial Literacy**: Within this program, young mothers receive financial education to manage their finances, access microloans, and plan for their financial future.
2. **Health and Well-Being Initiative (HWI)**:
   – **Healthcare Access**: HWI ensures that young mothers have access to vital healthcare services by partnering with local healthcare providers. It includes regular health check-up camps and vaccination drives for both mothers and infants.
   – **Mental Health and Counseling Services**: This component provides mental health support and counseling to address emotional challenges. Qualified therapists and psychologists collaborate for these services.
   – **Parenting and Childcare Support**: HWI includes parenting classes, healthcare guidance, and nutrition education to support young mothers in caring for their infants.
3. **Community Awareness and Advocacy Campaign (CAAC)**:
   – **Awareness and Education**: CAAC conducts awareness campaigns in schools and local communities, educating young girls on the consequences of early pregnancy. It partners with local media for wider reach.
   – **Advocacy and Policy Engagement**: This initiative focuses on advocating for policies that protect the rights and well-being of young mothers. It engages with local and national authorities to drive policy changes.
   – **Supportive Community Building**: CAAC includes the creation of support groups, annual awareness events, and peer-to-peer mentoring. It aims to reduce stigma and promote community acceptance and reintegration.

By consolidating these programs into three larger initiatives, EEYMO can streamline its efforts, allocate resources more effectively, and provide a holistic approach to empower young mothers in the Elgon region and beyond.

We kindly request you to do a paterniship with us to help equip and support young mothers and the Girl child.
Thankyou.
